EXPERTISE

Being a spin off of the University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart, SemantiCity relies on expert methodologies and tools for urban energy analysis, developed and tested in the scope of national and international research projects, such as the project SimStadt and the International Energy Agency Task Solar Energy in Urban Planning.
Our methodology relies on 3D city models, and in particular the open OGC standard CityGML. Our expertise is localized at each stage of the urban analysis process:

Repair & Enrich

From experience, geometric representations of city objects and their semantic figures encoded in virtual city models are present in various qualities. Sometimes, repairing your virtual city model may be required to make it usable for urban analysis.

We are using automatic algorithms to…

Analyse

Virtual city models offer an excellent support to facilitate a variety of energy analyses for planned urban developments, existing neighbourhoods or even whole cities.
Thanks to a range of expert urban energy tools, we realize global urban energy diagnostics, including heat and electrical…

Predict & Optimize

Based on these energy diagnostics, we predict energy saving potentials and identify refurbishment priorities for existing neighbourhoods. Based on a requirement analysis conducted together with our customers, we then define, simulate and optimize candidate energy scenarios and variants,…
